Mechanical Design Technician

Job Description

• Analyze existing mechanical design drawings and technical documentation;
• Prepare Shop Drawings for HVAC, plumbing, and fire-fighting systems;
• Prepare 2D/3D drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit;
• Prepare Shop Drawings for mechanical equipment, ductwork, piping, valves, fittings, and other mechanical elements;
• Prepare ductwork and piping layout plans in accordance with project requirements;
• Prepare plan, section, and detail drawings;
• Take into consideration the coordination of mechanical systems with other MEP and architectural systems;
• Identify discrepancies between the existing design and Shop Drawings and clarify them with the project team;
• Accurately incorporate equipment and material dimensions, connection points, and technical information into drawings;
• Participate in the preparation of As-Built drawings;
• Ensure that drawings comply with project and company drafting standards;
• Manage drawing revisions and accurately reflect all changes;
• Work in coordination with project engineers and draftspeople from other disciplines.

Qualifications

• Technical education in Mechanical Engineering, MEP Systems, HVAC, or a related field;
• Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical drafting or MEP projects;
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD;
• Knowledge of Revit MEP is preferred;
• Ability to read and understand HVAC, plumbing, and fire-fighting design drawings;
• Practical experience in preparing Shop Drawings;
• Ability to accurately prepare plans, sections, elevations, and detail drawings;
• Basic understanding of MEP coordination principles;
• Knowledge of technical drawing standards and dimensioning practices;
• Proficiency in MS Office;
• Ability to work with technical documentation with strong attention to detail;
• Ability to work effectively in a team and complete assigned tasks within deadlines.
