Job description 

  • Receive and review structural design and working documentation submitted to the construction site and assess its suitability for execution on site;
  • Review IFC drawings, Shop Drawings, Method Statements, ITPs, Material Submittals, RFIs, and other technical documentation related to structural works and provide relevant technical comments;
  • Identify discrepancies between the design and actual construction conditions and prepare technical proposals for their resolution;
  • Assess the constructability of structural solutions provided by the designer and, where necessary, provide recommendations for technical modifications;
  • Participate in the preparation and response to RFIs (Requests for Information), Technical Queries, and other technical inquiries;
  • Participate in the preparation and close-out of NCRs, Observations, and other quality documentation related to structural non-conformities identified on site;
  • Verify the compliance of reinforcement works with structural requirements, including bar diameters, spacing, positioning, lap lengths, anchorage, concrete cover, and other relevant requirements;
  • Verify the compliance of formwork and temporary support systems with the design and approved methodology;
  • Monitor the progress of structural works against the established schedule and inform management of any delays;
  • Participate in the daily and weekly monitoring of structural works on site and ensure the preparation of reports on completed works;
  • Identify issues requiring design changes during construction and participate in their technical justification and obtaining the necessary approvals;
  • Monitor the preparation of As-Built documentation in accordance with the actual construction conditions;
  • Participate in the handover of structural works at the completion of the construction phase and review the relevant technical documentation;
  • Participate in the acceptance of works performed by subcontractors for structural works.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Structural Engineering;
  • Work experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience, including practical experience in construction;
  • Ability to read and analyze structural designs, working drawings, and Shop Drawings;
  • Knowledge of construction codes and regulations applicable in the Republic of Azerbaijan, including AzDTN and SNiP, as well as international standards applicable to the project; practical knowledge of construction technologies for reinforced concrete and steel structures; knowledge of the technical properties and quality requirements of concrete, reinforcement, structural steel, and other key structural materials;
  • Computer skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and structural analysis software;
  • Ability to prepare technical reports, certificates, and other construction documentation; experience working with RFIs, NCRs, Method Statements, ITPs, Material Submittals, and other construction documents;
  • Language skills: Azerbaijani – fluent; English – good;
  • Effective technical communication and coordination skills with designers, contractors, and other stakeholders;
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills;
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and make timely decisions on construction sites;
  • Responsible approach to occupational safety, quality, and construction technology requirements.
