Electrical Design Technician

Job Description

• Analyze existing electrical design drawings and technical documentation;
• Prepare Shop Drawings for electrical systems;
• Prepare 2D/3D drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit;
• Prepare lighting and small power layout plans;
• Analyze DIALux lighting calculations and prepare reports when required;
• Prepare Shop Drawings for cable trays, cable ladders, and other cable containment systems;
• Indicate the locations and connections of Main Distribution Boards (MDB), Sub-Main Distribution Boards (SMDB), Distribution Boards (DB), and other electrical panels on drawings;
• Prepare and update Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and other electrical schematics in accordance with project requirements;
• Prepare drawings for earthing and lightning protection systems;
• Coordinate electrical systems with other MEP and architectural systems;
• Identify discrepancies between the design and Shop Drawings and clarify them with the project engineer;
• Manage drawing revisions and accurately reflect changes;
• Participate in the preparation of As-Built drawings;
• Ensure that drawings comply with company and project standards;
• Work in coordination with project engineers and draftspeople from other disciplines.

Qualifications

• Technical education in Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnics, MEP Systems, or a related field;
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical drafting or MEP projects;
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD;
• Knowledge of Revit MEP is preferred;
• Practical experience in preparing electrical Shop Drawings;
• Basic knowledge of lighting, power distribution, cable trays/ladders, and other electrical systems;
• Ability to work with Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and electrical schematics;
• Ability to perform power and lighting calculations;
• Basic understanding of MEP coordination principles;
• Knowledge of technical drawing standards and dimensioning practices;
• Proficiency in MS Office;
• Strong attention to detail and a responsible approach to work;
• Ability to work effectively in a team and complete assigned tasks within deadlines.
