Ilham Aliyev attended inauguration of Zafar Park

On November 8, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, attended the inauguration of the "Zafar" Park, which was built on 8 November Avenue in the Khatai district of Baku.

Neriman Topchibashev, the director of "PMD Projects" LLC, provided information about the conditions created in the park.

In his Decree signed on December 3, 2020, President Ilham Aliyev instructed the creation of the State Border Memorial Complex and the "Zafar " Museum in Baku, in order to perpetuate the brilliant victory achieved in the Patriotic War for the territorial integrity of our country, the unparalleled heroism shown by our people, and the precious memory of our martyrs.

Immediately after the decree, the projects for the State Border Memorial Complex and the "Zafar " Museum were prepared, and construction work was started.

The park, which covers an area of more than nine hectares, has been successfully completed within the planned time.

At the entrance to the "Zafar" Park, the Victory Arch symbolizing the path to victory has been erected. This structure consists of 44 columns, with the tallest column reaching 44 meters. In the park’s access area, a memorial monument reflecting November 8 – Victory Day – has been erected. Surrounding the monument, greenery has been planted, embodying the patterns and decorative elements found in Karabakh carpets.

Additionally, the park features a thematic garden, a cascade-type waterfall, the Karabakh Memory Garden, and an observation point offering a panoramic view of the park. At the far end of the park, the construction of the Freedom Flag Square has been realized.

The "Zafar" Park is a unique monument that embodies the determination and lofty heroism of the Azerbaijani people, fostering deep respect and admiration for the participants of the Patriotic War. Visitors to this park will be able to recall the glorious pages of our history and pay tribute to the precious memory of our martyrs.
