Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) Policy
At PMD Projects we are driven to ensure no harm comes from our actions to people, the environment or the communities in which we operate.
Our Values & Commitments
- Health, safety and environmental responsibility are core values at PMD Projects and integral in all that we do.
- Compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and PMD Projects policies is a license to operate for our employees, contractors, suppliers and partners.
- HSE ownership through visible, demonstrated leadership across the organization.
- Collaboration with our employees, the industry and other professional associations to continuously improve HSE performance.
We expect our employees, contractors and partners to embrace these principles and reflect them in every aspect of the work they perform.
This policy is integral to PMD Projects business strategy. Executive leadership is committed to the full implementation of this HSE policy.
Our HSE Principles
At PMD Projects, we believe that:
- All incidents and injuries are preventable.
- HSE is line management accountability.
- We are responsible for our own safety and that of others around us.
- Our employees and contractors are obliged to stop a job or refuse to perform it, if it cannot be performed safely.
- All HSE incidents must be reported, and learnings taken from them.
- Our commitment to and efforts in HSE will yield results.
- Acting safely is a condition of our employment and contracts.
QHSE at Construction Sites
Quality, health, safety and the environment (QHSE) are a key part of the construction, commissioning and start-up phases of any project. They must be managed carefully in close collaboration with clients, contractors, suppliers and other partners.
At PMD Projects, we take QHSE at our construction sites very seriously and strive to meet the following objectives:
- Zero incidents
- Safe, secure and healthy working conditions for everyone who works with and for us
- Safe, high-quality and environmentally responsible products and services
- Responsible use of natural resources
On-site QHSE must be hardwired into a project right from day one and continuously monitored throughout the entire project. Our Integrated Management System provides a comprehensive set of tools for steering our QHSE activities here.
To ensure that the right organization, planning, procedures and systems are in place at all our construction sites we focus on a wide range of QHSE issues at the planning stage of every project. These include:
- Identifying relevant legal requirements and other QHSE aspects
- Identifying project-specific risks
- Preparing project-specific QHSE concepts, programs and procedures (based on Linde’s standard and project-specific requirements)
- Coordinating project-specific programs and procedures with contractors
- Planning site management organization (including QHSE)
- Conducting constructability reviews to optimize the construction process
Once construction starts, we establish clear lines of leadership and accountability – from site and Project/Construction Managers through to individual supervisors. We also appoint dedicated QHSE experts to always monitor our performance and use KPIs, routine reviews and audits to further benchmark our QHSE performance at all of our construction sites.
Certificates and Awards
Satisfying customer needs is the top priority at PMD Projects, and so does the continuous improvement of our operational capabilities, performance, products and services.
To realize and demonstrate this focus in a sustainable and tangible way, we maintain compliance with and certificates confirming compliance with several international standards such as:
ISO 45001 for occupational health & safety management
Construction licenses/certificates for several activities
PMD Projects Safety
Safety for PMD Projects is to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses. Improve compliance with laws and regulations. Reduce costs, including significant reductions in workers' compensation premiums.
