A prestigious mosque complex is currently under construction in Shusha, serving as a symbol of freedom, national strength, and the spiritual heritage of Islam in Azerbaijan’s ancient city, liberated from occupation. The mosque will feature two 72-metre minarets reflecting the region’s national spirit and cultural identity. The dome, designed in the shape of the number 8, symbolizes November 8 — Victory Day and the liberation of Shusha. The two minarets together form the number 11, representing the liberation of Karabakh in the 11th month of the year. The project has been designed to achieve LEED/BREEAM certification upon completion.
